Not a guy, but... ;)

Are you measuring your wire rope across the flats or across the "rounds"? It's customarily measured across the "rounds," which would give a slightly larger diameter than going across the flats, so that's why I'm asking.

Is it possible that the wire is 5/32"? That would be 0.156" or 3.97mm. That is closer to your actual measurement. 3/16" would be .188" or 4.76mm, which is quite a bit larger than your measurement.

Don't forget that, hailing from SC, "y'all" is a perfectly acceptable, gender neutral way to address any group of people. ;)

They also make wire in metric sizes, so it could be 4mm...
