I'm looking at an Albin Vega 27 which has a CDI furling system.
When the jib was removed I noticed the luff extrusion was a sectional aluminum one, not pvc as advertsed on the CDI website. Is this something that has been cobbled together, or did CDI previously use aluminum luff extrusions?
I've asked CDI the same question and am waiting for a reply.
As always, any and all help appreciated.
Thanks!

Cruising Design (CDI) has been around for quite some time, and the old furlers (first generation) were basic things with aluminum extrusions. They're certainly nothing special, but there are plenty of those old aluminum CDI furlers out there.
Glissando had one of those when I bought her, in fact.
Don't expect much from one of these old furlers. It might be functional, but will never work as well as modern equipment.
