I see Ryan asked this question in 2006 and got 0 responses. I'll try again. Anyone out there have a favorite cruising guide to the Bahamas? If so, which and why?
Thanks, eh?
Steve

Perhaps if I'm a bit more specific someone will kick in an idea or two.

I've had it with winter in general, nothing site specific.

Tritons aren't roomy but they're street legal. Mine sits here on a trailer.

I'm thinking that come next January I'd haul it to somewhere in Florida, push it over the bank and float away to the Bahamas for a month, month and a half.

Anyone who can help steer me in the direction of better local knowledge I'd appreciate hearing from. Hell, anecdotes will help.

Edited because... the person I was helping has had a change of heart and is not heading to The Bahamas (not necessarily a bad decision either, considering everything).

Of course I'm still interested in reading about them from an "interesting potential places to cruise" perspective, but I'm no longer seeking out specific information.

Thanks for the temporary loan of your thread, Steve ;D

Say Rachel,
Get me your address off this forum and I'll send you a posting I just received from a fella I met some time back. He bought his boat on Lake Superior then sailed to Granada.

I met him up on Isle Royale and again in Thunder Bay. Both places where we got blown in for a couple of days.

At any rate he's sent me his recommendations from having covered that ground and while it may interest you and me it may not be germane to filling up this site.

It's not the Bahamas but North West Florida is great all year round. Gives a try, nice airport nearby.
