Any good books to recommend good cruising guides other than the Embassy Guide. I like Embassy but was hoping to augment. Thanks in advance.

The Cruising Guide to the Maine Coast is considered by many to be the Gold Standard. I highly recommend it.

Edit: MikeD hadn't posted yet when I started typing this...

How about A Cruising Guide to the Maine Coast?

Oh, has that been posted already? Hehe (At least my link is different :-)

If you are interested in a wider geographic range, say all of New England from New York City to New Brunswick, Canada, consider: The Cruising Guide to the New England Coast.

I have both!

Also, I like Eldridge Tide and Pilot Book as it has a fair bit of "local knowledge" (although certainly biased towards southern New England) embedded within it, as compared to Reed's Nautical Almanac.

To cover all your bases, you might also download the NOAA Coast Pilot 1 as well (or purchase a paper copy).

(disclaimer: links to Landfall Navigation are for representation purposes only; I've bought a lot of stuff from them in the past but have no other relationship).

Probably the closest thing would be chart 13260, Bay of Fundy to Cape Cod.

Preview Here.

How about the Island Institute's Poster of Satellite Imagery of the Maine Coast available from Hamilton Marine (they have a couple of others, too).
