Anyone want to do a classic plastic rendevous on the ches?

Post by Ric in Richmond »

Anyone want to set up a rendevous with me on the chesapeake?

I am on the Rappahanock so I am kind of out of the way, but would like to see if there is enough interest to set something up.

What do you think???

Sounds fun! (Although I might be in my Fatty Knees dinghy...)

I'd love to cruise the Chesepeake, but alas, not this year.

I wish I could!

I look forward to spending much of a season in the Chesapeake sometime in the future, probably 5+ years from now or so. I believe that will be a Pixie cruise, though.

Maybe we do it as an adjunct to the Turkey Shoot in the fall?

Just be glad that "yeah yeah" was all you got! It's kind of like the Greenhorn trying to pull a prank on the deck boss... you're likely to get bitten. Hard. hehe

That looks like fun. Taking a look at the chart, but it sounds very doable and like a great group of folks to meet.

Ric,
Put me in the loop. I've been trying to get something going for a couple of years.
Turkey Shoot weekend is just that...a turkey shoot....the weather is often nasty. How about something earlier? That weekend is also the Good Old Boats Regatta in Annapolis, so alot of folks are already in the area, and wrapped up with all of the partying that involves. Summer Sailstice is June 23 and 24. Short notice, but anyone interested?
I'm out of Urbanna, and Deltaville. Fishing Bay is a doable location, as are Urbanna, Reedville, Irvington, Mobjack, or Yorktown. Tangier is less accessible, but possible, and Onancock is possible, but less accessible. Solomons is a two day trip for me. And two days back....that's a really long weekend. Since I have access to the facilties at Urbanna, for myself and guests, including bathhouse and pool, and there is shopping and restaurants within walking distance, that's always a good location.

I'm interested also, but I am more Mid Bay.... we are on the West River. The northern neck is two days for me, but that doesn't mean we are not interested we just need planning time.

I don't need to go far....so Larry all the places you mentioned are fine.

someplace within 20 miles of the mouth of the rappahannock will work for a weekend get together.

23/24th doesn't work though.

This is as good a place as any I suppose...

Those of you around Annapolis or even Solomons might be interested in an informal race from the West River to and raft-up in Dun Cove (behind Tilghman Island). We have a fairly decent Triton fleet who participate along with other boats. The raft-up is always a lot of fun as long as there is enough room in Dun Cove!

Its run by the Pearson Sailing Association and the Rhode River Boat Club. This year it is the weekend of June 30. More info at http://www.cbpsa.org

I'll be doing a Delmarva cruise sometime this summer-- right now looks like the end of July-- as a shakedown of sorts. Might be able to hook up with anyone in the Southern Bay on my way back to A-town.
