Too Many Boats

Just pulled my Privateer 26 schooner out of the lake. I also own a Bristol 24, and a Bristol19. My boats are costing me too much in dock fees and storage. Time to turn loose of 1 or 2 of them.

I plan on trailer sailing the Bristol 19 next year. That should stop the bleeding at the tune of almost $2000.00 a year. I still will need to sell 1 or 2 boats, and prices for old boats are really low now. I hate to just give away years of work and money invested.

Where's that improving economy we hear so much about?

Counting dinghies and other small craft (sunfish, kayak) but not sailboards or surfboards, I have 8 boats. Only 3 in the water - Hobie PowerSkiff runabout, Ariel, and Islander. One will have to go next year, hopefully in return for some money to throw at the other. :)

I'm at an all time low of two boats: Loon and her dinghy. I've been throwing around the idea of a skin on frame kayak build for this winter, but that will be the extent of my fleet for a long while. I did the two (big) boat thing and it was more stress than enjoyment.
