I've gotta stop spending time on CL. Here's another little item I just saw in the Boat section of Vancouver CL ... an 18ft. East Coast sail boat for sale. In the description of the vessel and included accessories it explained:
... "Mast (Wood) - Boom (Wooden)."
Now I'm not sure if there is a fine difference between "wood" and "wooden" but, one should always remain open to learning more when it comes to Boat Nerdery. What say you???
I am: Bob of Wight.

s/v 'Ros Na Cosquin'
a 'Passage - 24'

There are good ships, there are wood ships, and these ships sail the sea

But the best ship, is friendship and may this always be! ... ... ... A prayer from Ireland.
