For some reason the one in the slip cracks me up the most.

Now can you imagine if he ever IS sinking (boat would look level), and he has to try to explain to the coast guard. "No, really..... " ;)

Funny, yes, but irresponsible too. He's toying with us in an unfair manner. The shot at the dock is certainly the best. As boaters we can see that he isn't in dire circumstances at that point. As an artist he could choose something equally absurd but without the connotations this image brings to mind.

There's a Drascombe Lugger in Ashland that I set off to "save" one gusty day years ago. I'd thought someone was sailing a canoe several miles offshore in deteriorating conditions.
