Chesapeake Forumites?

Post by keelbolts »

There has been some discussion of having some kind of a get together on the Bay next summer. Are any of you interested?

Count me in.

We are up in Annapolis, but with enough warning, and cajoling of the Admiral, we can make it down to the Southern Bay.

Always open for entertainment. We're in Rock Hall.

Speaking of Chesapeake Forumites, is anybody else gonna' do the Good Old Boat Regatta? Some of you may recall that I did my first one last year (and got my clock cleaned). Hoping for more wind and fewer Chinese RoRo's.

I'm waiting for confirmation that we'll have a class to race in the GOBR.

I'll be showing up in my Westerly so I'm more into a raft up than a race. I've only sailed her in light airs so far, but whenever I sail the Westerly I get the feeling that I'm not really moving, it's continental drift making it appear that I'm moving.

It looks like we have some interest so let's kick it around. Where can we all meet? When does your busy schedule allow for some time off?

Any excuse for a sail...

Well Ric, I'm heading toward the southern bay, slowly but surly. Where? When might be a bit more problematic. ;)

I'm in if there's a get-together next year.

As for the GOB, FWIW, the shore-based facilities, Sailors Wharf is the home of my long-time and very dear friends Bob and Cindi Gibson. I kept "Ronin" there for many years and my wife and I were married in the backyard by the waters edge. If I were in town on those dates I'd drop by and chat over a beer with the Forum attendees. But unfortunately, I have a boat to rebuild...

If you decide to come up the rappahanock let me know.

Boat is at Yankee point and they have good amenities. No idea what it cost as a transient...but you could anchor out and dinghy in too!!

Sounds like an idea Ric. When I make my move on Saturday and get to the new marina I'll do some checking on the charts and see what kind of a plan I can come up with to hit all these spots.

Allen-

According to Spot you are still in St MIchaels

There is a nice little bar on Carpenter Street with pretty good chilli and beer. It is on the corner at the main drag.
