Just for you.

I remembered the real reason I hadn't got around to it. When I was working on the cockpit before I still had an icebox. Then when I didn't have an icebox I wasn't working on the cockpit.

Another one for Mike.

I need to do a little preventative maintenance on the rudder so I didn't paint that bit. Maybe it looks faster with the black rudder anyway.

The black rudder is very sporty.

Mike doesn't like black bottoms on sailboats and has mentioned it to me on more than one occasion :-) He shares boat storage with a sea of powerboats, all with black bottoms, which probably influences his predjudices.

Yes, that is the boat's current condition. Since I post to the blog fairly regularly I haven't felt the need to double post all the pictures here.

It looks like the boat is still on schedule for topcoat- deck and hull- next week. Then I have a mad dash to close it all in and get all this stuff out of my basement and onto the boat. It should change from a 'project boat' to 'ready-to-sail' look in a couple weeks. Cosmetically, that is. She is still a way from next springs launch. On schedule but a ways away..

Will you be keeping the boat on Plum Island Sound?

No, I can't find a mooring that I can get to from shore.

I was looking around Casco Bay, Saco was suggested, Salem MA is always an option but I might be working for a marina in Newburyport so having the boat there might make the most sense although I am not crazy about the Merrimac.

Its all up in the air at the moment.

I hear ya. On the other hand, you will be able to say your triton goes nine knots...over land.

Perhaps with some racing stripes the rudder could be the Feature.

Who was it that posted the pic of the bottom with a bunch of fish painted on it in various colors of leftover antifouling? Now THAT was sporty!!
