I like to use anhydrous lanolin or Lanacote.

I've used Tef-gel for stainless fasteners into an aluminum mast, and isolation (plastic) for larger items with a base. I've also used Lanocote -- in my case to lube turnbuckles, etc.

I second Early Lights recomendation. I keep a pound of anhydrous lanolin aboard at all times. You can get it at any Pharmacy for about $20. The uses aboard are legion. Fair Winds Phil

I have used everything over the years and always have Duralac, Lancote, Blue Loctite and Tef-Gel on hand. By a rather wide margin I choose Tef-Gel now days for isolating dissimilar metals. I have found noting that works as well or lasts as long. A little bit goes a long way. If the bolts are subject to extreme vibration I will use blue Loctite.
