Good bottom paint prices

Talk about favorite or hated suppliers, recommend good materials or sources, or anything of the same ilk. This is also a good place to suggest unique ideas and innovations you may have come up with.

Good bottom paint prices

Post by earlylight »

If any of you are getting ready to order bottom paint, I was just on the wholesalemarine.com web site and they are selling Interlux Micron Extra for $189.95 with FREE SHIPPING (UPS Ground). That is a savings of $59.99 from what the "Evil Empire" (West Marine) wanted ($239.99 plus $9.95 shipping). Needless to say, I placed an order with Wholesale Marine. I find West Marine's pricing these days to border on "Criminal".

Was told by a WM employee this weekend that they'll "price match" any price you bring in - internet included. Haven't tried it yet, but if convenience is a factor WM is certainly convenient.

Mike,
I just have a hard time giving my business to an outfit that has been knowingly trying to gouge me. I much prefer to give my boat bucks to a firm that prices their merchandise reasonably to begin with. I should not have to jump through the hoops of bringing West Marine advertisements of their competitors. I realize that everyone has to make a living, but they don't have to make the manager's entire annual salary from my purchase of bottom paint. Sorry, just my take on the matter.

Funny Dick,

I've got over $150 in gift cards to WM from my Sept. Wedding... Can't find any good reason to use it yet as I get more bang for my bucks elsewhere. Those gift cards came from WM employees who probably only had to pay 50% of the price of the gift card. My wife is waiting for a big sale to use the cards... I've never seen a big sale there though.

They are, however, convenient for emergency purposes for sure.
