Bronze herreshoff-style cleats

Talk about favorite or hated suppliers, recommend good materials or sources, or anything of the same ilk. This is also a good place to suggest unique ideas and innovations you may have come up with.

Bronze herreshoff-style cleats

Post by Bill NH »

Any recommendations where to find the best price on bronze hereshoff-style cleats? I'm looking for a pair of 10" cleats for the foredeck of my Cape Dory 26D... (Anybody have a pair they'd like to sell?)

The best quality are from J .M. Reineck & Son in Hull, MA - True reproductions used by the HMM - and are hard to tell from originals:

But Bristol Bronze probably has better prices on theirs:

having used materil from sevea sources on my S - and knowing others who also have - go with Jim Reinecke's product. He might be a bit more exspensive but both his finishingand overall quality more than make up for the difference.
