Just bought a 10" version with laser. Spent yesterday afternoon tuning it up and doing some test cuts. I bought a Freud (sp?) fine tooth, fine kerf blade also. What a huge improvement from my very old B&D. Laser is very accurate for length of cut.
Also have started to use the Makita lithium tools. Circular saw is a little weak, but did cut some 2x10 on a 15 deg angle, just had to feed it slow. The impact driver is "falls nicely to the hand" as they used to say about Jaguar shifters. Plenty of oomph. Ditto the drill.
Not enough time to rate battery strength but I'm deliberately running one down to see how it holds up.

Once you go sliding compound miter, there's no going back! You wonder how you ever made it with the old style.
