Japan wood worker was giving away Festool DVD's last month. I got mine, but haven't taken a look at it yet.

You may still be able to order one.

Let me know what you think if you get one.

BTW, the woodenboat forum might be a good place to ask around.

I received, unsolicited, the Festool DVD with a recent Jamestown order, which is what got me interested. I watched most of the DVD, and the stuff looks pretty slick, particularly the plunge saw and guide system. The price is very high, though, and with a series of other tool requirements I'm not sure it's justifiable at this point. Do I need that fancy a circular saw setup if I'm going with a high-end cabinet saw? Probably not.

All the tools look to be extremely nice, but I'm not about to ditch my inventory in favor of a full set. But there seem to be some interesting innovations in their line, and the tools seem highly engineered.

The DVD is well produced and pretty slick, and of course it makes the viewer want the tools (that's the point, after all). Having never touched a Festool tool, I was curious if they seem to deliver what they advertise. I'm happy to pay for quality, but at their prices the tools had better be outstanding.
