Earlier this season I was shocked to see this little fiberglass Friendship sloop in the water.

She had been on the hard for over 10 years, and despite her classic lines and recent Yanmar diesel the owner couldn't give her away. A few years ago an older gent took over the boat and did some work on the bottom, but the bowsprit was still on the ground and the boat was in overall tough shape. Apparently a 30-something woman took possession of the boat and has some an impressive job of getting the boat on the water. Then they actually stepped the wooden mast. The shrouds have deadeyes!

She looks great from a distance although there's much to do under closer examination. But she's done some great things with the brightwork, the boat floats and the engine runs. Nice that she didn't end up getting cut up!
