Vineyard Vixen - opinions or thoughts?

Post by Tom Javor »

As stated in a prior post, I'm in the market and am looking for something that has a definite classic look and feel to it. I've come across a Vineyard Vixen 29 which meets most, but not all, of my list of "wants". Most importantly, the lines of the design have my attention - vey attractive with a strong traditional look.

Can anyone share any thoughts, opinions or experiences? Possibly there may be an owner lurking on the board?

As always, thanks for your input.

Vixen

Hi Tom-

I remember sitting on a Vixen with the Hales at the Newport Boat Show in the late 70s.

I too thought it a beautiful well made boat.

Good Luck. Please post pictures if you have them.

I too have sailed them. The Hales make a good boat - I always thought the VV 29 and the larger 34 were nice looking. Kind of LFH Roz-esk above, and modern below. There is always one or two around the Vineyard and Nantucket I see every year.
