Pearson Plebe

I once had a rugged little dinghy - 8' x 4+' with a sailing rig, a roundish tubby thing. The boat "disappeared" 20 years ago, but I still have the rig.

Anybody remember this boat?

8' Dyer Dhow, by chance? They have a rounded bow. This photo is of a 1962 model:

They are still made (along with other sizes):

Very similar to the Dyer, but (as I recall) more solidly built. The interior was a molded fiberglass inner rail and thwarts.

Googling turned up a couple old ebay auctions, and a mention in a Pearson Yachts history - apparently this was Pearson's first model - 1957, before the Triton.

(edited for clarity)

Oh I see -- you were saying it was a Pearson-brand dinghy. Sorry, I missed that point.

Pearson did make a dinghy that I think might have been "for" the Triton. I could see that being late 50s, early 60s. Windrose from this forum actually owns one, though I haven't seen her here lately. Don't know if anyone else does.
