Good Old Boats or Turkey Shoot Regatta
Maybe, but more likely the Turkey Shoot Regatta in Lancaster,Va. same weekend. Depends on whether I can run a new main halyard on my Columbia Sabre. If not, I'll try to crew on a boat in Good Old Boats.

Big weekend, big fun!!!
It is, but there is always room for rally boats in the creek at the organizing marina. They only allow 80 boats, and there are always no shows. It's good in that you can arrive early, and take in the show on Thursday or Friday, or race on Saturday,Sunday, and do the show on Monday. There are parties on Saturday and Sunday after the races, and a couple of covered dish dinners (Friday and Saturday?) Anyway, lots of great people, laid back racing (no protests).
There are always a couple more Regatta's going on the same weekend, so the Bay can be a little crowded with racers, but it just adds to the fun, along with dodging the freighters that are on moorings off of the shipping lanes.

See my post in SAILING AND CRUISING for info on the Turkey shoot if you are on the southern bay.
They should really stagger these as some people might do both!!
