I can give you some from another boat that did. I'm guessing though that you want to see the part where the wood gets attached to the fiberglass. I'm afraid I have no pictures from below looking up. the first pictures of the pristine cockpit floor, the last one is my cockpit floor. He put his latche...

Westsail 32 cockpit floor
They can be lifted allowing an excellent second entrance and vantage point to the, em, engine room. Instead of it being bolted down and there for a project preceeding the project I'm installing some perko flush mount T latches. I'm going to have to afix some wood to fiberglass to make it flush under...

Tavana 33?
Hi folks. It's been a while. Hope you all had a nice season! Have any of you ever heard of Tavana's (not a typo)? They were built by Glander Yachts in FL. This particular boat has 'Teteron" sails. Now that's 3 = things= for lack of a better word I've never heard of before. I'd be curious to kno...

Mounting Transom Boards Hardware
Or, in my case, cabin side boards. Since I'm a double ender and making two boards, I thought I'd put them between the two most aft port lights. They will be mahogony, gold leaf, etc. I'm doing them myself and will post pics when done. What do you suggest I mount them with? Bronze or brass bolts with...

Follow up: It was not salt, the bottom had some debris in it. I think it was from the all rope rode that used to be in there. FWIW, on another board I was told that the SSCA thread I was referring to was discussing carbon fiber hulls....I don't remember that part and I look forward to re-reading tha...

I did not take a picture. THere is no standing water. It's never been in salt water. Can't tell by looking at the chain what is actually happening. What I recall reading was that the chain literally degalvanized over time. I believe I actually put up a question about painting it but I never went bac...

Need a quick answer!!!
will just copy and paste a post on another board... There was a chain discussion on SSCA that I read a while ago that I was reminded of yesterday and can't get back in to see it because the site is down. I recently loaded 275 feet of ACCO G4 in my chain locker. Have not anchored using it yet. It's b...

I don't see any pictures attached but that must be the guy out of Sweetwater. His name is Mort, boat is Meteor, he charters 1/2 the year then goes south on her for the other half. Not a bad life, eh? He chose to remove his mizzen which baffles me. Oh, now I see the pictures, guess they needed time t...

This is the set up I have. It's a picture taken prior to the arrival of the new chain. I THINK the roller is fine, otherwise I think I would have read about the need for modification. I would also like to think that the PO would have mentioned something but I could be wrong there. He had chain and r...

Anchoring
OK, I got the chain and it rides great in the windlass but when the shaft of the anchor comes up to bow roller (which is 1/2 way up in the bow sprit), because of the two shackles it does not come through the roller. You've got to climb out there and pull it through. Could easily become the "cas...

Figment, although I've sailed for years and years I am a neophyte to systems, nuts and bolts etc., so bear with me. I put that post up about backing plates but I never really got any feedback that they were a horror story - so no - I was not intending on messing with them anytime soon. Rachel, my bu...

my anchor locker is UNdivided, for now. I'm wondering if it is better to have a ring of some kind to be glassed to the stem inside, or the bottom or just a ring to a piece of wood that would act as a stopper on deck. I've seen both and both give me the jitters. I realize that the likelihood of runni...

Does anyone have any pictures of these. In doing a search here, I get 207 hits and the first 10 were a no go.
And secondly, if anyone knows of people that make them...I would love an introduction.

Thanks Lazyguy. It seems they also manufacture 'windlass chain'. Both BBB and HT. I think they are discontinuing this line though and I am trying to find out why -inferior to the competition or simply a business decision to narrow their focus. I just addressed this same issue a few weeks ago. I happened to own a plethora of those mini mini fenders - I lined a hard dinghy with them, like a launch to protect the old boat. So I took four of them (total of 8) and attached them to each line coming from the top of my hard mooring ball with spac...

Rachel, yes I unclogged the drain put water in and it still came out the centerline bottom of the cabinet as well as the galley side - but not the settee side :) I found the leak when cleaning and filling it with soap and water, found the clog, unclogged it, then used the ice box and the melting ice...

Need I say more? The drain was clogged but no longer. It voids directly to the bilge (no hose). I'm assuming this is the way it is supposed to be. When the drain was clogged and I tackled cleaning years of mold out of it,(using a hose with a gun) I found myself standing in water. There is a bit of a...

Well, I did it and it was THE MOST awful job so far. The prep was the easy part (as it turned out). Contortions are now my specialty. Left hand caulking? No problem. I wish this job on no one. It still baffles me that such a 'well made' boat would have this as an issue. Not removing the cap rail and...

Polyurethane vs. polysulfides?
I need to caulk the caprail, it's a Westsail malady due to the hull/deck joint. This is what someone else's looks like with the caprail removed. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/norteig/hulldeckjoint.jpg I had ordered a case of 3M 101 but just found out that it is on back order. Ah, it's the little things in life.... There's more but I won't bore you. ...

I wish, then I'd be answering questions instead of asking. Speaking of which, with more research I have found that you can buy the tanks from an RV supplier at a fraction of the 'marine' price. If a box goes on deck I still can't figure out how the hose should exit the box (high or low) and, if high...

Yes to all! Rachel, this was the boat you lived on, that I've seen you to refer to in the past? 218, that's my existing problem, vertical clearance. It's bolted on forward end of lazarette, under a lip that covers 3/4's of the top of the tank. If it went to the aft end the lip is deeper, ergo a door...
