Re: Engine Vibrating Excessively
Thanks Tim, Dick for your quick responses and for confirming what I suspected was the cause of my Atomic 4 vibration problem. The boat is in the water now and I don't plan to haul out until spring so it is hard to tell you the condition of the cutless bearing. By the level of vibration I am sensing ...

Engine Vibrating Excessively
My Atomic 4 has always had a bit more vibration when I put it in gear than when the engine is neutral. But recently I have noticed that the vibration has gotten worse (or I am just paying more attention to it now that I have dealt with the other system issues like fuel tank and exhaust). I have alwa...

I appreciate everyone's input. One additoinal thought on the placement of batteries in the bilge - I have always thought that is a great location for them but another school of thought believes that if the cabin is flooded that is when you need the batteries to pump the water out. If the batteries a...

How to cut out a hatch opening
I have never really learned how to properly cut out a hatch opening even though I have done several in the past. The results are invariablly less than satisfying, primarily due to the lines not being as straight as I would liked even though most of the time I use a straight edge as a cutting guide f...

Adding more ballast to Triton
I think the common feedback I hear about Triton and other similarly designed CCA era boats is that they are tender. While one can debate if that is true or not, or being tender is a virtue or not my preference is to make mine stiffer by adding additional ballast. From the National Triton website I l...

My WC Triton came with two transducers (depth), one thru-hull and another in-hull. Byron,
Seems like you use the same blue foam for bulkhead as Tim. Do they come with trapezoid already cut or do you have to cut to size and shape? In any case where do you get them? I cannot seem to find them anywhere on web. Maybe I am not googling with the right name.
Thanks and regards,
