Yeah, my mast step is an epoxy saturated mahogony plywood contraption. I am expecting the paint to stick to it just as well as the rest of the deck. It is removable but I just can't see any reason to remove it. I probably should have just set it in a bed of epoxy and made it permanent. Then again.....

The Triton has a huge mainsail area. Reefing at 20 knots is not only helpful with the helm it's just plain prudent. You won't go any faster with a full main in 20 knots than you will with a reef.
