Re: 1972 Pearson Ensign
I think Quetzalsailor has summed up the condition and depth of repairs needed in a brevity of words that best conveys reality. I chose to over look some things to go sailing a couple of years. This winter wood work is #1 on the list. Oh, you want an example, as I was preparing to load up on the trai...

I thought the date and # were out of synch also. I have 1965 #1387. Are you sure it is #421 and not 1421 which may be closer to 1972. If not ant 421 is correct I agree with the previous poster (#1 wow). Mine came with no electronics. I'm envious. I added a bilge pump to run off a small 12 v marine b...

Well that explains it. I was looking through some vintage boat pics and puzzled over a similar appearing and vintage boat who's boom stuck about 8' past the aft end of the boat. My issue with your proposed fix is that that crack has been there longer than you've been able to see it. Glue or epoxy wants a clean fresh substrate to adhere to. You can't do that in situ. Plating it might be an emergency patch to say, get you home from a cruise. But you'll end up doing a correct ...

Skipper, I think it elongates at a slower rate (presumabaly not noticable) due to larger surface area, and it is through the boom not within the boom. Ie. drill the boom the size of the compression sleeve to be a tight fit/press fit.

I'd bet that the law says yes. They may or may not enforce it though. Locals to the area would know. I strap mine for the 110 mile trip to/from the lake.
