Sorry about being late, just away a few days. The billboard material we used for a roofing material was put down with roofing nails and topped with plastic roofing tar. Kinda folded a seam down stream, nailed, then covered with tar. Seems to work. But then duct tape fixes anything. Dave

Yes, but not with boats. I lucked into several about 12 y ago and am still using them. They are made to be outside and don't degrade with sunlight. They are thick, heavy and may come in combinations of colors and logos. Shipping aside, they are very good outdoor tarps. You have to rig your mounting....

An appropriately shaped oval would provide arches and should maintain structural integrity and might give enough access for you to drive yourself nuts trying to scrape and sand the 1" wide cavity to encase in fiberglass.

Jeff, the analogy to dry wall, a little further. Taping with mesh tape corner or wall-ceiling. Ask many of us about dry walling and see what you get;)

Some almost after pics. See, I have 3 posts on each side. I lowered 2 on the uphill side and one on the downhill side for the first application of primer then anti fouling. In most cases you'd be looking for a specific sized tap. Here I'd recommend using a drill bit to size the hole. Use the non fluted end to push into the hole.
