Pictures of your wiring would help. something is missing you should have fair charging and good usage out of the bank arrangement you describe

If it is strictly water cooled you should check the zincs. If you are feeling ambitious you can use some Rydlime or other descaler to clean the water passages. the best way is to grind inside/out (large taper) and apply layers of glass ( i prefer epoxy not any ester) to build up to original hull thickness. there are many other ways to accomplish this but anything short of scarfing and re-glassing is a compromise in my opinion.

they sell dunking cans of parts cleaner. if you remove all rubber seals/gaskets you can soak the carb overnight to loosen up some of the deposits that form in the passages that are not easily cleaned otherwise.

yea i agree with the longer track idea as long as i can get one with the same hole spacing. i just don't feel like removing the old track grinding/reglassing all of the holes. I know they'll be plenty to do in the spring and I'm trying to eliminate as much as possible now.
