If anyone is looking, there is a Sailmaster on RI Craigslist. The ad is several weeks old but the boat is still available - no idea as to condition. My curiosity prompts me to go take a look at her this week - appears to be a Weekender.

What an incredibly beautiful day.......
Went out this afternoon about 1, came back around 5. It was an incredibly beautiful day. Mid 60s, mild breeze (which kept shfting and stalling out - but, hey, it's the middle of November......) Not planning to haul until after Thanksgiving, hopefully I'll get a few more sails in. Anyone else get out...

sounds as if you've got a Weekender, I've got a '64 Daysailor, but wanted a Weekender. Luckily Ihaven't encountered any core troubles. Good cleaning, some bottom paint, plugged the through hulls and a bit of epoxy work on the boom and I was sailing. Where are you located? Greenwich Bay in RI here. 1...

Re: taking water through centerboard tube on Sailmaster 22?
YEAH! Another Sailmaster 22 ! Hull number? Daysailor or Weekender? One question I've got is what's going on with your cockpit scupper drains? Could the water in the bilge be from them? Also some boats have vents under the cockpit benches that go into the cabin - heeled with water in the cockpit coul...

Re: Process for removing chrome from bronze?
Ask either at a motorcycle or custom car shop to find out who does their chrome work. If someone can do the plating they should be able to do the stripping. There are several places here in RI but the shipping would probably be a deal breaker.

In the interest of time I plugged the exterior of the through hull set in epoxy, cut off the plug and then epoxied over the surface. Inside the cabin I disconnected the two hoses from the head and brought new pieces of hose to the cabintop, plugged them and secured in place. No sign of water in eith...

They have two options; the tufnol ($35 +/-) and ash (120 +/-). I prefer the look of the ash, plus that's what's on the mainsheet rig. However the deadeyes, cams etc are all the tufnol.
