That's what I originally thought so I replaced the hose and packing last season and it still leaked. On closer inspection I found it was leaking from a crack in the foberglass. Thanks for the tip on not using the 5200, I'll just glass it and then just use a little extra for increased strength. Dave

I can understand why when you ran out of fuel that the engine didn't start and that was because you sucked air into the system. I don't think you'll have any problems with mounting a winch in that location. If it's a concern drop or raise the location six inches or so. You could through bolt it, but then you have to put six more holes on the opposit side and if over tighted you could damage the mast.

What if the hull is cored? Does that change the type of transducer needed?

Agree that it's most likely the temp, but you could also consider the age of the fuel. If you do need a little bit of a kicker on really cold starts, use wd40 in the air intake. It's not as explosive and will fire a diesel up safely.

Originally I thought my mast step needed to be rebuilt but after closer inspection I found that my forward mast compression post is failing. I believe it's the support in the flooring that is giving way. Has anybody done a repair like this and have suggestions?
