Re: Hi y'all! Meet my baba.

Hi there - Discussions of 24' boats catch my eye. Congratulations, your Dolphin is a sweet looking little cruiser. Just for yuks, I did a comparison on this SailCalc site (link below) and I was amazed at how closely the figures for the Dolphin matched up with my 1968 Paceship Westwind (a Ted Hood de...

Wow, that looks a lot like the damage I found inside my older Westwind. Little by little, as I got more familiar with the boat I could see irregularities and then badly done repairs to the coaming, deck joint, cabin side and hull on the port side. The liner isn't cut open like that, but when I stuck...

On that jibe, the shackle that holds the mainsheet block to the traveler car broke. I was able to grab the mainsheet and hold on to it while I turned the boat head to wind. Fortunately, I did not break the gooseneck. I tied the mainsheet to the two jib cleats and pulled the mainsail off. When I wen...

Duncan, I'll agree that I got a lot of use out of a non-electric drill. We didn't have a bit-and-brace aboard, but actually just a light-duty plastic "Fiskars" hand drill. It worked for 90% of the uses we had and kept us from having to unearth the power drill very often. Rachel I agree - ...
