Just ran across this the other day. Its a forum with a great section with people sharing all sorts of info/pics/etc on garages and workshops.

bolero on bitter end - small world
Was suprised to see 2 of my favorite websites come together, Bitter End blog and Tim's sites. Opposites sides of the country no less.
Was reading, Bitter End and they had a story about pulling Bolero off a Grounding.

ultra tuff opinions
Has anyone heard of/seen/used ultra tuff coating (available with rubber bits and without) and have any opinions on the use of it on decks. I am restoring a boston whaler, and unless someone volunteers to bring there sprayer over and spray high build primer, primer and topcoat like alexa seal, I am t...

mouse
I am not a pro, and hardly an amateur, but I am always impressed with what my little black and decker mouse can accomplish. It comes with profile sanding fingers like the multi master. It takes a tiny screw driver to change the attachments, and I can only find the sandpaper in 5 packs are my only co...

shop vac filters
So I have been very happy with my ridgid shop vac over the years, I probably use the filters longer than I should because they are 15 bucks a piece. Anyone know where to get them cheaper? Or... Have you tried alternatives? For instance, on craiglists some guy was selling basically panty hose that yo...

Re: mixing epoxy and fillers
Small batches, slow mixing, patience. How much are you mixing at one time without starting a fire? :) I don't think the MAS epoxies I am using get as hot as WEST or others. I am mixing about 2 qts at a time, I am rebuilding the fuel tank cover/deck for a boston whaler. which is primarily plywood th...

mixing epoxy and fillers
Any tips and techniques to share re: mixing expoxies and fillers? right now, I use a 5 qt bucket, I mix the resin and hardener with a cheap mixing bit in my dewalt, which works great, but doesn't do so good when I add microballons or cab-o-sil. Once I add that, I use a wood mixing stick. My current ...

Re: non-turbine hvlp sprayers
I have had generally good results with my turbine-based system, but am planning on upgrading to a compressor-based setup in the near future. But unfortunately, I don't have any specific comments to add in that regard at this time. All I have is a Porter Cable 4.5 Gallon, 150 PSI compressor. I assum...

non-turbine hvlp sprayers
Which compressor based hvlp sprayers are people using? I bought a regular sprayer at the home center for use with furniture and have never been happy with it. Also, how hard is it to clean the guns when using all that epoxy based material? I hope to enventually be spraying AlexSeal products, and/or ...

tarps that last?
I built a "Tim-style" temporary shelter, but instead of wrapping with plastic, I just put a giant tarp on the roof (no issues, with it getting cold here in Atlanta). That was back in January. Of course my project is no where near completion, and the tarp is starting to leak. Should one exp...
