Re: Identify this sailboat
Wow that was a quick response. I would say that's what it is, although this one had a swing keel. They must have made them with swing keels at some point. I am not sure what was going on with the rudder, it either fell off or was removable. Anyways, I love the lines. Unfortunately it looked liked it...

Identify this sailboat
I saw this sailboat while driving by it and I turned around and a friend who has a fancy phone took some photos of it for me. I love the lines, can anyone tell me what it is? Thank you for any info.

Can you identify this boat?
I am interested in this homebuilt boat. The seller isn't the builder and he doesn't know much about it. It's about 30' long with a beam of 8'6". He calls it a Glacier Blue, but I can't find any plans named that online. To me it looks like a Bruce Roberts with a pilothouse. I already have one pr...

fastener corrosion
What is the best product to use between stainless fasteners and aluminum to help stop corrosion? Also, any ideas on where the best place to get it would be? I thought Loctite made a product but I might be wrong. There is a lot of small #8 machine screws that are threaded into the mast that I am repl...

I'm no expert but I would leave the aluminum rivets in, and replace any others that have rusted. I'd remove any wax and then sand down the gelcoat on that flange. Then I would tape over the whole joint using epoxy and fiberglass tape. That will ensure the joint is waterproof. I think if you try and ...

Your shed looks great. I lucked out and have my project boat in a barn. Unfortunately it will never be heated and has a dirt floor. Not sure how painting the hull is going to be with the dust and dirt. I'm thinking before doing that of laying down road underlayment which is fairly cheap and should h...

Spreader Part
I'm working on restoring the mast. I don't know how to describe it other than there was a white plastic pocket that went between the spreaders and the bracket. It locked the spreaders in the socket. It was disintegrated when I bought the boat, a US Yacht 25. I had someone hold a tape while I snapped...

I thought I was going to have to use 316 stainless for all of the exterior fasteners on my project? is 18-8 sufficient? I?m familiar with the Midwest Fastener brand which appears to be what Bolt Depot is selling and their 18-8 is slightly magnetic. I am going to be replacing most of the fasteners I ...

Core questions
I have a few questions. First can the balsa core on a deck be replaced by ?? Luan plywood? I know the glue is not waterproof in this plywood however it should never get wet if I reinstall the deck hardware correctly. Would ACX be better? I have areas of rot that need to be replaced and I believe I r...

I?ve purchased some lights for my US yacht restoration project even though I am a ways away from installing them. The boat had yellowed brittle plastic RV fixtures inside it which I threw out. I have a couple of the Seachoice stainless round dome lights which seem ok. They are stamped stainless with...

That does look similar to my US 25, except for the stern. The link to the Triton brochure that Tim gave http://pearsoninfo.net/triton_yachts/tritonyachts.htm is it, except the interior layout is changed a bit.

I?ve been lurking in this forum for some time but now I?ve decided to say hi. After taking a few months off I am going to start on my project again next week and to say I need help is an understatement. I?ve never worked with fiberglass before. I am attempting to restore a 1980 US Yacht 25? which I ...
